In Bloomfield, 1.7 miles away, we renovated the building on Bloomfield Avenue for Abuelo's Steakhouse: a new storefront on a structural beam and a commercial kitchen under an exhaust hood. Working in Bloomfield covers the township's permits and historic district.

Permits in each town
New Jersey has one building code for every town, the Uniform Construction Code. What changes from town to town is the office: each town's construction office takes the permit applications and sends the inspectors (N.J.A.C. 5:23-2), and zoning rules are local.
