Retaining walls, priced per block
We build segmental retaining walls with Cambridge Sigma 8 block at $40 per block, and the block is included in that price. Structural mason block is $25 per block, materials included. Counting blocks gives you a real number before the estimate.
What makes a retaining wall last is the part you never see: a compacted base and drainage behind the block, so water doesn't build up and push on the wall.
Steps, facades and foundations
Brick front steps, block foundations, veneer and facade work are the other half of our masonry work. On the Abuelo's Steakhouse job in Bloomfield we took the old facade apart before rebuilding the storefront. At home, the same crew rebuilds stoops and steps and repairs foundation walls.
Waterproofing
If a basement takes on water, the fix usually starts outside or at the block wall. We handle foundation waterproofing, and then, if you want, we finish the basement too.
